How it works

Discord stores permissions as one big number where each bit is one permission. Bot invite links, role APIs, and channel overwrites all use it.

Tick what you need and copy the number. Add your app’s client ID to get a complete invite link that requests those permissions when someone adds your bot. Dangerous permissions like Administrator and Ban Members are marked, because asking for fewer permissions gets more servers to trust your bot.

Paste an existing number to see which permissions it grants.

Questions

Should my bot ask for Administrator?
Almost never. It bypasses every channel override and makes your bot a big risk if its token leaks. Ask only for what the bot uses.
Why is the number so large?
Discord has over 50 permissions, so the number goes past what normal integers hold. Treat it as a string in your code.
Do these permissions apply everywhere?
They’re the bot’s role permissions. Channel overrides can still remove them in specific channels.
